Gua Sha Stone

from $13.00

Gua sha stones are used as a form of ancient healing to rejuvenate the skin. The technique was historically used within Traditional Chinese Medicine, however its uses have become more widespread in recent years. The practice of gua sha involves moving the stone with gentle motions across the face and neck. Benefits of gua sha are associated with increased blood flow and circulation, decreases puffiness and inflammation, improves lymphatic drainage, relieves muscle tension, promotes relaxation, may reduce the the appearance of wrinkles, and improves overall skin complexion.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  • Liberally apply tallow or carrier oil of your choice to allow the stone to glide across the skin and to help products absorb more deeply into the skin.

  • Repeat each motion 5-10 times. Always move away from the center of the face. Wiggle the stone slightly at the end of the motion to improve flow.

  • Utilize varying amounts of pressure—light pressure for lymphatic drainage or medium/firm pressure to relieve muscular tension.

  • Always begin with gentle downward sweeps on the neck to open lymphatic drainage pathways.

  • Keep the gua sha stone on a slight angle and be sure to PULL not PUSH across the skin.

  • Long smooth edges are recommended for larger areas of the neck and face.

  • Smaller round edges are recommended for areas of tension.

  • Divots are recommended for use around jaw line and brows.

  • Use the gua sha stone as the last step in your daily skincare routine, or a few times per week.
