WE ARE MORE THAN JUST A HOLISTIC SKINCARE COMPANY.

Because your skin matters to us, but your health does too.

“Did you know that putting chemicals on your skin can be far worse than ingesting them? This is in large part because when you eat something the enzymes in your saliva and stomach help break it down and flush it out of your body. When the chemical cocktail is delivered into your bloodstream via your skin, however, it bypasses this built-in protective filtration process, so you have decreased protection against the toxins.”

Benefits of tallow

Tallow contains naturally occurring vitamins A, E, D and K, as well as important fatty acids such as oleic acid, stearic acid, palmitic acid, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

Tallow also closely mimics the cellular structure in humans making it incredibly bioavailable to moisturize and nourish our cells.

What is TALLOW?

Tallow has been used for centuries for everything from cooking to soap and candle making, and yes, even skincare. So, where does it come from? It all starts with suet. Suet, also known as leaf fat, is the hard nutrient-dense fat that surrounds the organs of some ruminant animals, specifically the kidneys. Tallow is the rendered or clarified version of this fat.

WHY MAKE THE SWITCH to non-toxic skincare?

Our skin is the body's largest organ and is designed to provide a protective barrier between our internal and external environments. When this barrier is overburdened with toxins, dry, damaged, or lacking nutrients it cannot fully perform its function.

Fats or lipids are one of the essential building blocks of every cell in our body, including our skin. They not only ensure that our cells are protected, but they are also able to deliver moisture and nutrients that our cells need. Because tallow has lipid structures that closely mimic those that exist in our own skin cells, it can deeply penetrate for optimal moisturizing and healing. By using tallow in your skincare routine your skin will not just look and feel healthy; it will thrive from the inside out. Trust us, your skin will thank you.

The dirt on toxic skincare products.

Most cleansers and moisturizers sold in stores today contain petroleum by-products, chemicals, preservatives, artificial dyes, fragrance, hidden ingredients, and more.

Improving your understanding of holistic living.

DEFINE HOLISTIC.

‘Characterized by the belief that the parts of something are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole.’

What does this mean for skincare?

Your skin is just one organ in a complex body of organ systems. A holistic approach to health encompasses not only treating your skin with care, but your body as a whole. We believe true health entails a multi-faceted approach to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.

ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF.

We believe that living a holistic lifestyle requires you to strongly advocate for your own health and your well being. What are your individual goals? Are you masking illness and symptoms without identifying and treating the root cause? Who has your best interest in mind? True healing and healthy living become possible when you lean into your intuition, listen to your body, and research for yourself. When you advocate for yourself, you’ll likely come to find that true health can be simplified and exists outside of the western medical system. Don’t be afraid to think critically and take charge of your body.

10 things to consider to reduce overall toxin exposure and improve your health.

  1. Eliminate products with artificial fragrance (perfume, candles, hair products, air fresheners, detergents, cleaning products). These contain hormone disrupting chemicals called phthalates.

  2. Choose non-toxic cookware such as cast iron, stainless steel, or pure ceramic. Non-stick cookware emits PFAs which are known as forever chemicals. Also, refrain from storing leftover food in plastic containers. Glass storage containers are best.

  3. Filter water for drinking and cooking. Quality water filters can help to remove harmful chemicals from your tap water such chlorine, lead, arsenic, pesticides, herbicides, and excess pharmaceuticals.

  4. Be cognizant of mold exposure. Mold is known neurotoxin, and can have damaging and long-term effects if not properly addressed and treated.

5. Choose organic foods whenever possible. Traditional foods, especially processed foods, are often associated with their usage of harmful pesticides, artificial ingredients and preservatives, GMOs, and less nutrient dense ingredients. The ‘Dirty Dozen’ list is a helpful resource guide for beginners.

6. Drink adequate amounts of water and electrolytes, and eat foods that are rich in antioxidants.

7. SWEATING is a critical pathway for detoxifying the body; daily movement, exercise, and frequent sauna usage provide lasting benefits.

8. Utilize grounding as a method to reduce overall inflammation in the body, improve blood flow and circulation, and regulate nervous system function.

9. Incorporate dry brushing to improve lymphatic drainage pathways in the body.

10. Find ways to reduce stress in your life to avoid mineral depletion and maintain optimal immune function.
